Laura Stec, Chef

Laura Stec is a San Francisco Bay Area chef and environmental advocate who enjoys turning students on to the artistry and energetics of "high-vibe" cooking.

As Culinary Health Educator for Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, she works for their Healthworks (corporate wellness), Weight Maintenance and Lifestyle programs, as well as their organic farmer's market. Stec is former chef instructor at Stanford University for LifeLong Inc., and current, long-time staff member with environmental organization, Acterra.

For many years she has been passionately teaching how to have a positive affect on the environment through food choices.

Eugene Cordero, Ph.D.

Eugene Cordero, Ph.D.

Dr. Eugene Cordero is a professor in the Meteorology Department at San Jose State University (SJSU). His research expertise is in global climate change, atmospheric dynamics and the interactions between ozone depletion and tropospheric climate.

Dr. Cordero's current research is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and NASA and aims to understand better current and future changes in climate. At present, he is also a fellow in the Global Studies Institute at SJSU working to improve public understanding of the causes, impacts and mitigation strategies of global warming.
